What exactly is afro house?
Afro house is a subgenre of house born in South Africa, between 118 and 124 BPM. It blends afro-organic percussion, round basslines and slow builds. Two schools coexist in 2026 in Paris: an organic South African deep, and a more direct club leaning with marked drops.
What's the difference between afro house and amapiano?
Afro house runs between 118 and 124 BPM with dry percussion and slow builds. Amapiano runs between 110 and 115 BPM with log drums (the signature synth bass), looping pianos and a 2-step swing. Amapiano is more sung and more supple, afro house more club and more direct.
What are the best afro clubs in Paris in 2026?
Several circuits coexist: dedicated afro nights (specialised crowd), clubs and bars where afro carries the whole room, and weekly residencies. I map it fully in my piece Afro DJ Paris: venues and the scene.
Do you mostly play afro house, or broader?
Broader: my direction is afro-club. Afro house and amapiano are at the core, but I connect them to dancehall, shatta, bouyon and the familiar tracks reworked my own afro way, up to tribal afro house at the climax, then kompa and zouk on the way down at the end of the night. The blend depends on the crowd in front of me.
How do I book an afro house DJ in Paris?
Short brief (capacity, slot, expected crowd, tone of the night), then send through the booking form. I reply within 48h. Afro-club sets, available for clubs, parties and festivals.
Afro house and amapiano are two families among others in my sets: the way I bridge them with the rest has a name. Discover my afro-club direction →
